The work comments on the growing economical prosperity since the 1970’s of the Norwegian state and Norwegians in general due to the oil-production, and the strengthened notion of importance in international affairs and business caused by this economical development.
The artists own old passport has been restored, “updated”, to suit this situation better:
The text tells about the process of "renovation" ; The old passport was treated with several layers of putty, stopper, paint, synthetic leather, oil paint, gold-paint and varnish.
