Another Horizon / Another Direction

A floor installation made of traditional Norwegian almond-cake (Kransekake), coloured icing sugar and paper flags. The pattern looks similar to traditional Norwegian “floral-painting” but is based on the central arabesque on the front façade of the main mosque in Oslo. The traditional floral painting inspired by Rococo-decorations has its roots in the old middle-east acanthus pattern.
